Congratulations to our very own Steve Clamp who was awarded the Pendle ‘Sports Coach of the Year’ Award, which is much deserved given all the effort that Steve puts into his coaching at the Philip Wright Bowling Academy and elsewhere.
In addition the Philip Wright Bowling Academy was recently awarded the ‘Contribution to Active Communities (Group) Award at the Active Lancashire Awards for the work they do in Colne – a fantastic achievement given that this covers all of Lancashire.
All these awards help to improve the visibility of the sport, as well as recognising their achievements.

Could you tell me what the size of the bowls are in relation to current bowls sizes.ie double 00.It would help our disabled bowlers.

Hello Andrew, thanks for enquiring about our bowls. They are about 10cm (100mm) in diameter compared to Size 00 which are 116mm and Size 0000 which are 112mm. I hope that is helpful? Best wishes, Bowls Buddies.
