We are very sad to announce that Steve Clamp, a key Partner in Bowls Buddies, has passed away at the too young age of 52 after a relatively short battle against cancer. Steve was one of the two founders of Bowls Buddies and a key driving force behind its success since its foundation in July 2022. His passion for developing bowls was unmatched and demonstrated by his coaching and development officer roles, as well as serving on the Board of the British Crown Green Bowling Association. Most of all he was just a lovely man who could not do enough to help people. All of us at Bowls Buddies are devastated by the loss of Steve.
Steve’s wife, Julie, and Ian & Sarah Gill will be continuing the business and there should be little change from a customer perspective, but please bear with us at this difficult time. We are determined to continue to grow and develop the business in Steve’s memory, as he would have wanted. It is hoped that we will also be bringing new partners on board to assist with the day to day running of Bowls Buddies.

Afternoon Julie, Ian, Sarah and families,
I am so sorry for your loss.
I only met Steve back in March on an online training session, and a couple of short verbal chats. When we were informed Steve would not be continuing the course, due to a hospitalisation.
My sincere condolences, the interactions I had with him, although short, showed him to be a genuine and sincere man.
Regards Peter Leaver

Rest In Peace Steve – we have known him since he was a junior with NL& F. A larger than life character but always had time for everyone. Our Burnley Bowls Partnership would not have been where it is today without Steve; he will be missed. Much love to Julie and the family. Mavis and Roger Hancock

How sad that Steve Clamp death occurs at this time. Of -course death at any time is to be regretted, but to be at the birth of such a strong movement that will influence the lives of so many people who come in contact wth bowls buddies. Ben Cardwell (hon. sec Halesworth Angel Bowls Club.

Hi Ian
I was shocked to receive this message about Steve Clamp; very very sad. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. On a brighter note, the equipment I purchased from you a few months ago is being put to good use in a local school where I’m running an after school club in their large gym. I hope to get an endorsement for your bowls from the head of sports there which I’ll send to you when available.

Thank you to Steve’s family and to Ian for sharing this sad news with me. I am very sorry to hear that he died so quickly and so young. I think I had the pleasure of speaking to him on the phone when I enquired about my first order of bowls buddies but it might have been with Ian. Never mind , I am sorry for all of your losses.
I bought the first set of Bowls Buddies after hearing about them while I was on a bowls coaching course in Surrey. Nobody I knew had ever heard of them and I was so excited to show them to my club.
Subsequently our Bowls club ( Epsom Park ) introduced Bowls Buddies 2 years ago for our Tuesday afternoon activity we hold with a Charity called Sunnybanks. Adults with disabilities and they really enjoy using these super light bowls. I can’t thank Steve and Ian enough for introducing me to their clever invention. We bought another set of BBs from club funds and have enjoyed them so much. I will be supporting the company in the future. Thank you very much for contacting me again.
What a great idea Steve and Ian had to create these “bouncy light and coloured bowls “ for all generations.
Thank you from
